Artificial Flowers?

What is an easy/home made way to clean artificial flowers? These are the silk kind. They are in a small ceramic bowl and won%26#039;t come out. How can I clean them without messing up the arrangement?? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersThe salt idea works if you do not have a complicated arrangement. Otherwise, you will be finding salt around it and coming out of it for months to come. It gets caught in the blooms and is a nightmare later, but that is the only way to get the salt to totally clean the arrangement.





If it is only dusty, use canned air. You can get it at the computer stores and in the big box discounters. Blast the dust off and use the tube attachment to get into the blooms.





If it is really dirty and just blasting leaves a dirty residue on the flowers, use Silk Flower Cleaner, available for $1.99 at the craft stores (it is cheaper here than at the florists). A word of caution using the cleaner, however. Either put it in the sink when treating it or take it outside, surround it with plastic and then spray it or you will have a mess. I like to do mine outside when it is sunny and warm because it dries faster. That being said, you have to saturate the blooms and leaves until they are dripping and those drips are filthy. You stop spraying once the drips run clear. If you choose the sink method, you can hit it with a blow-dryer set on low to dry it faster.

Reply:Pour salt over the whole container; into a bag then holding onto the container upside down in the bag, shake thoroughly, the salt should be very dirty when you are done.
